The first quarter final match between Pakistan and West Indies went as a single sided match. Pakistan dominated West Indies and won the match. Everyone is more exited with the second quarter final match between India and Australia. Australia, the defending champion of the world cup and is playing against the India who are 2nd in the ICC Cricket Rankings. There were lots of expectations for this match on both sides to move further step. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. Ashwin and Zaheer bowled really well in the powerplay and restricted Watson and Haddin. Watson gone for 25 and later Pointing played a beautiful innings in this world cup by making 104. Zaheer, Yuvraj, Ashwin each got 2 wickets. They have restricted Australia to 260. Everyone is eagerly waiting for Sachin’s 100th century and completing 18000 runs in the ODI career. Sachin have completed 18000 runs and got out at 53 runs. Gambir and Kohli played a decent innings with a good partnership. Kohli got out at 23 and Yuvraj came into attack. Gambir got runout at 50 due to some miscommunication with Yuvraj. Later Dhoni also went to the pavilion early by making only 7 runs at 187/5. Now all the pressure is with Yuvraj and Raina and they played well and rotating the strike and finished the target with 14 balls remaining. At the end Yuvraj made 57 and Raina made 34 runs. Yuvraj was awarded Man of the Match and this is the fourth in the World Cup for the all-round performance. India is going to play the semi-final with Pakistan at Mohali on 30th March.
