India Level the series

India made a historic win in Durban and level the series. For the past one year, India stood at the world No.1 in Test Rankings and some people are having doubts that whether they can sustain the position for a longer period. The defeat at Centurion brings more doubts over whether they had the bowling to take 20 wickets. Indians provided answers with a victory in Durban, handling South Africa their third straight defeat at the venue. India made 205 in the first innings and 228 in the second innings where Laxman made a good contribution of 96 runs where as South Africa made 131 in first innings and 215 in the second innings. Even this is a bowlers fast track pitch, India managed to score up to the mark in the batting and collapsed the South Africa with their bowling attack. In the 3rd day the game was very interesting. India made 228 in the second innings and gave a target of 303 runs. In South Africa, Smith and Petersen started well. Everyone thought that they will made damage to the Indian side. But Sreesanth took Smith and Harbajan tool Petersen wickets and at the end of the day 3 they made 111/3. In the day 4, Sreessanth took the wicket of Kallis which turned the game. Then Zaheer Khan bowled well and took 3 wickets and made South Africa restricted to 215 that brings victory for India. Laxman was awarded Man of the Match for his good contribution in the 2nd innings. Lets wait for the exiting 3rd test at Cape Town from 2nd – 6th January 2011.
