Goals in Life and Goal Of Life

Goals in life are many but his goal of life is only one. Goals in life are different from one individual to another as someone wants to be a doctor where as other one wants to be software professional and he fights to achieve want he wants to be. Wealth, pleasures etc are finite and cannot give permanent happiness. The goals in lifer are meant for one to discover the experiences of life and seeing the limitations of pursuits of power, pleasure and prestige. When one’s mind has been purified, then he will get the goal of life that is moksha. Divinity within oneself and in the world outside by contemplation on the infinite reality or truth.

The goals are divided into 2 categories. They are Prosperity (Goals in Life) and Liberation(Goal of Life). These two are again divided into 4 purusharthas in a human life. They are Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. Dharma is all about he good values, doing one’s duty for a social order and moral life. Artha is Economic pursuits of wealth, power etc., Kama is Desire of fulfillment and pursuit of pleasures. Moksha is Emancipation from the ego and discovery of one’s true nature as soul Artha and Kama is based on Dharma. There are four stages in human life. First 3 stages student life, household life, retired life help one to achieve the goals in life. Renunciation helps to achieve the goal of life. Thus goals in life lead to goal of life.
